I recently shared some free fonts that can serve as great typeface alternatives.

As you can tell, I’m always on the lookout for trendy new fonts to add to my ever-growing collection. Typically, when you use an ornate display font you want to pair it with a simple lighter font.

So I thought I’d share some of the latest combinations I’ve found for those type junkies out there. You’ll find the links to download all of these fabulous free fonts below.

This combination pairs a nice structured serifed font with a fun thin san-serifed font. Imagine this combination on spring bridal shower invites!

Playfair  |  Quicksand

This combination pairs two fun fonts, a more fresh and handwritten font with a more structured condensed san serif. Having a spring party? Use these fonts on the invites!

Tangerine Mangos  |  Simplifica

Florence has beautifully curved tails on the ‘R’s that is reminiscent of spring flowers. Pair this with a simple san serif and you have a match made in heaven!

Florence  |  FF Enzo

Weston Light is a slab-serifed font that is an atypical choice for a slab serif – but that is what I like about it. It is perfect for headlines or logos. This geometric font pairs nicely with the condensed san-serifed ostrich sans.

Weston Light |  Ostrich Sans

The skinny is a popular handwritten font that reminds me of sidewalk chalk – perfect for spring! Pairing a condensed display with a more open and rounded text font make for a refreshing look.

The Skinny  |  Akagi Pro

Hopefully, these pairings inspire you to go out and get creative this spring!
